Following his dedicated service, he worked tirelessly as a carpenter, farmer, former Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Deputy, roofer, and master gardener, growing a bountiful variety of fruits and vegetables to share with a multitude of family and friends. His was a fine Christian man with a heart of gold and his kindness, generosity, and work ethic knew no earthly bounds.

He will be remembered for his colorful stories revolving around his upbringing as one of 12 children, a life full of hunting, fishing, farming, gardening, and, most importantly, his cherished role as Daddy and Papa. He is irreplaceable and will be eternally missed by so many, especially his children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, family, and friends.

To honor his memory the family asks that you plant a tree, grow a garden, or raise beautiful flowers like tulips and roses, which were his favorites, as to make this world a more beautiful place to visit for such a brief time.

A visitation will be held beginning at 11 AM Thursday at Garner Funeral Home in Ripley with graveside services with military honors following at 1 PM in Mary’s Chapel Cemetery.
