Jacqueline Corinne Jones Cousins passed away peacefully on the evening of Saturday, March 7, 2026.
Corinne (Jackie, Rinny) was born on February 26, 1946 in St. Joseph, Louisiana to Arthur Lamar Jones and Maggie Louise Jones. She was the loving wife to Michael “Mike” Cousins, Jr., mother to Michael Cousins, III (Donna), and “Grammie” to grandchildren Cameron Cousins and Shannon Cousins.
Corinne graduated from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, La in 1969 and became an elementary school teacher. She taught for many years at George Cox Elementary in Jefferson Parish. She retired from teaching and found enjoyment with various arts and crafts, as well as becoming an avid gardener. She was a Master Gardener in both Louisiana and Alabama, where she and Mike moved to enjoy their retirement.
She was proceeded in death by her mother and father, sister Mary Elizabeth Jones, brother Louis Jones, sister Martha Jones Peters, brother-in-law Max Henderson Peters, Sr, and her husband Mike.
Corinne leaves behind many happy memories for family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Alzheimer’s Association or planting a tree in her memory. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at Scottsboro Funeral Home from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel of Scottsboro Funeral Home. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
