With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Katelyn Anne Jung Nagle on March 8, 2026. Katie was born in Daegu City, South Korea, on July 15, 1986. At three months of age, she travelled to America to meet her adoptive parents, John and Cheryl Nagle. This day was lovingly celebrated as “Airplane Day” on November 5 of each year, which marked the day John and Cheryl became parents. She was a sweet child who was beloved by all for her bright smile and cheerful disposition. Katie was an eager older sister to the “two babies” Jacklyn and Elizabeth, and then “baby sister” Julia.
Katie was creative, artistic, and generous despite a lifelong battle with chronic regional pain. She loved animals throughout her life and enjoyed spoiling the family cats. In her youth, she engaged in artistic endeavors such as drawing, painting, and ballet. As an adult, she became skilled at knitting and crocheting. She was thoughtful about creating beautiful blankets for family and friends, and she was meticulous about ensuring the quality and fit for each recipient. Her loved ones will forever treasure these gifts as a sign of her love.
Katie will be forever remembered as a devoted daughter and sister. She is survived by her parents, John and Cheryl Nagle, as well as her sisters, Jacklyn Ruhl (Mason Ruhl), Elizabeth Nagle (Ryan Underwood), and Julia Nagle.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home (2320 Bob Wallace Avenue, SW, Huntsville, AL). Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a memorial service following at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your favorite charity or to the American Fibromyalgia Syndrome Association in memory of Katelyn Nagle.
