  Michael "Pete" Reynolds' obituary pictureMichael “Pete” Reynolds passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. Pete was a lifelong resident of Piedmont, Alabama.

In his early years he proudly served in the United States Army, including time stationed in Germany. He later retired from Garcy’s Manufacturing in Piedmont after many years of dedicated work.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Nellie Craven; his father, Gilford “Blackie” Christopher; his brother, Kenny Carr; his sister, Linda Coly; and his cousin & best friend, Bo Reynolds.

He is survived by wife of 30 years, Connie Reynolds; his daughter, Miranda (Kevin) Reynolds Kelley; his son, Michael (Lindsey) Reynolds; 3 sisters, Joy Grubbs, Brenda Christopher, and Anita Hanvey; and his brother, Dean Christopher. He is also survived by his lifelong best friend, Gwen Welcher. Pete was a proud PawPaw to 4 grandchildren: Brooklyn Kelley, Courtney Churchill, Joshua Churchill, and Isaiah Reynolds, as well as 4 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind 6 stepchildren: Tonya Sparks, David McGatha, Roger Haggermaker, Patricia Towns, Jimmy Haggermaker, and Sherry Brogdon, along with many step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Pete’s beloved fur baby, Hercules, also held a special place in his heart.

The Reynolds family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Piedmont Rescue Squad, Gadsden Regional Medical Center, and Amedisys for their care, comfort, and kindness during this difficult time.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life honoring Michael “Pete” Reynolds on Sunday, March 22, at 1:30 p.m. at Fagan’s Park in Piedmont.

Friends and family are invited to attend and celebrate his life.
