Nancy Jane Patterson, aged 90, of Decatur, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 8th, 2026, at her residence. Born on June 26th, 1935, in Giles County, Tennessee, Nancy was the daughter of Earl Pettus and Clara Corinne Neely Patterson.
Aunt Nancy is survived by a host of nieces and nephews who fondly remember her as a loving and caring aunt. She is also survived by her late brother James’ wife, Christine Patterson. She preceded by her parents and siblings, including her brothers Howard Patterson, Edward Neely Patterson, and James Ashford Patterson, as well as her sisters Martha Ree Patterson, Gena Mae Smith, and Nella Gaston.
Nancy attended West Limestone before graduating high school at Athens Bible School. She had several degrees and a passion for nursing.
Friends and family are warmly invited to honor Nancy’s memory during the visitation on Wednesday, March 11th, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service will follow promptly at 2:00 PM. Nancy will be laid to rest at New Salem Cemetery.
