Jo Ann Sharp Grantland Funeral service for Jo Ann Sharp Grantland, 86, will be Friday, March 13, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Somerville Church of God with Bro. Michael Mason, Bro. Michael Gunter and Bro. Pearl Jenkins officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Somerville Church of God Cemetery.  Visitation will be Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.

Mrs. Grantland passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, at her residence.  She was born September 5, 1939, in Morgan County, to Elmer Price Sharp and Edith Hodge Sharp.

Mrs. Grantland was a United States Postal worker, working 25+ years, prior to retirement. She was a faithful member of Somerville Church of God. She was credited, as a hero, with saving Leanna’s life, as a 19-month-old child, from a burning house in 1996.

She was a wonderful wife. mother, and grandmother and was a wonderful cook. Jo Ann took great pride in taking care of her family, while working hand in hand on the farm and feeding lunch every day. She loved working in the yard and in her flower beds. She loved flowers and watching hummingbirds. Jo Ann was a Classy Southern Lady.

Preceding her in death were a son- Ted Price Grantland, a sister- Janie Ruth Moore and her parents.

Survivors include

Husband of 67 years- Ted Grantland,

Sons – David Grantland (Darlene) and
Michael Grantland (Leese),

Granddaughters- Breanna Corder (Evan) and Leanna Grantland (Will Ellis),

Great Grandsons- James Price Corder, Teddy Wells Corder, and
Atley Robert Corder,

Brother – Jimmy Sharp,

Pallbearers will be David Grantland, Michael Grantland, Evan Corder, Will Ellis, Russell Sharp and Dale Moore.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Donnie Grantland, Chris Mooneyham, Todd Gritton, Greg Gritten, Ed Ely III, and Marlon Mitchell.
