Huntsville Man Dies From Injuries Received After Fleeing From Police

HUNTSVILLE-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident has taken the life of Huntsville man:

“A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 1:47 p.m. Sunday, March 8, has claimed the life of a Huntsville man.

Toranza R. Williams, 39, was fatally injured when the 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee that he was driving left the roadway and struck a mailbox. After the initial impact, the Jeep struck a utility pole guy wire, an unoccupied parked vehicle and then a house. Prior to the crash, Williams was attempting to elude officers with the Huntsville Police Department. He was not using a seat belt at the time of crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

 

The crash occurred on Brookline Drive near Shamrock Drive, in the Huntsville city limits.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
