DECATUR-A Decatur police officer is now on administrative leave after his arrest Monday night.

On March 9, 2026, Officer Elijah Cole, age 28 was arrested for Theft-First Degree and Financial Exploitation of an Elderly

The arrest stems from an investigation into a report from December of alleged criminal activity by a DPD officer.
Cole has been placed on administrative leave, pending the outcome of an internal investigation.

Cole was arrested and released on bond Tuesday, March 10.
