Michael Dean Cockrell Michael Dean Cockrell of Pulaski, TN passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026. He was born in Vancouver, Washington on November 5, 1945 and was 80 years old.
Michael was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord with all of his heart. Michael retired from the Memphis Fire Department after 33 years of dedicated service. He also devoted much of his time serving others through volunteer work with the Arlington Developmental Center, Church Without Doors in Memphis, and the House of Grace. Those who knew him best will remember him as a storyteller extraordinaire. His faith in Christ guided every part of his life. Michael loved leading worship and singing. In his free time, Michael enjoyed searching for treasures at yard sales and flea markets. He also had a love for collecting and talking about guns. One of his favorite simple joys was spending time with friends at Chick-fil-A.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Ellendale Baptist Church in Barlett, TN.
The memorial service will follow at 1:00pm on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Ellendale Baptist Church in Bartlett, TN.

Michael was preceded in death by, his parents, Willis and Alice Cockrell, and great-granddaughter, Aubree Lynn Claunch.
He is survived by, His wife of 52 years, Donna Kay Cockrell of Pulaski, TN
Son, Phillip (Charlene) Cockrell of Arlington, TN
Daughter, Anissa (Steve) Woods of Pulaski, TN
Brother, Keith (Debbie) Cockrell of Germantown, TN
Grandchildren, Amber (Dennis) Claunch, Ashley (Justin) Way, Allan Cockrell, Megan Smith, Jack Woods, and Allie Woods
Great-Grandchildren, Hailey Claunch, Jackson Claunch, Savannah Way, and Madelyn Way.
