Shelby Jean Baldwin, age 87, passed away March 6, 2026 at Burns Nursing & Rehab in Russellville, Alabama.  Shelby Jean was born August 29, 1938, in Hodges, Alabama, eldest daughter of the late Shelby and Ollie Wilson.  She loved God and was a long-time member of Hodges First Missionary Baptist Church.

Services will be Wednesday, March 11, 3 p.m. at Hodges First Missionary Baptist Church, Hodges, Alabama with Brother Marty Guidry officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 11, 2-3 p.m. at Hodges First Missionary Baptist Church.  Burial will be in Old Line Cemetery, Hodges, Alabama. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Alabama will be in charge of arrangements.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-five years, Joseph Rexford “Rex” Baldwin and a great-grandson, Sebastin Hollis.

She is survived by two sons, Joseph Richard Baldwin (Sheila) of Phoenix, Arizona and John Steven Baldwin (Sonyong) of Hodges, Alabama; five grandchildren, Natasha Hollis (Christopher), Joseph Ryan Baldwin, Kaylee Jing Baldwin, Alex Guidry, and Chloe Guidry; two great-grandchildren, Dahlia Hollis and Fabian Hollis; two sisters; Glenda Rogers and JoAnn Swinney, along with many other family and friends who will miss her gentle spirit and sweet smile.
