Kathy S Click, 76, passed away on March 7, 2026.

Kathy was born on September 8, 1949, in Gadsden, Alabama to Robert Franklin Smith and Thelma Lucille Romans Smith. She grew up in Gadsden and graduated from Gadsden High School before building a long and dedicated career at Teledyne Brown Engineering, where she later retired.

On November 24, 1974, she married Luther Marion Click in Huntsville, Alabama. Together they shared more than 51 years of marriage and built a life centered around family.

Kathy will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved caring for her plants and had a true green thumb. She was also known as a wonderful cook who enjoyed preparing meals for the people she loved. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters, whom she loved dearly. She also leaves behind her beloved Aussiedoodle, Maury.

She is survived by her loving husband, Luther Marion Click of Huntsville; her son, Mike Click of Huntsville; her two granddaughters, Chandler Click and Campbell Click; her sister, Bobby Lynn Edmonds; her brother, Robert Smith and his wife, Aixa Smith; along with many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Franklin Smith and Thelma Lucille Romans Smith.

A celebration of Kathy’s life will be held Monday, March 16, 2026, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home in Huntsville, Alabama. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. with the funeral service immediately following.

The family asks that those who knew Kathy remember her through kindness toward others and by cherishing time spent with loved ones.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
