Kimberly Thurmond Morgan, February 14, 1964 – February 27, 2026, 62 years old.

Kim Morgan, lovingly known to most as Kimmy, Mama Kim, or Mimi, passed away at Marshall Medical Center South on Friday, February 27, 2026, surrounded by loved ones after a weeklong stay in the ICU battling flu and pneumonia complications.

Kim was born on February 14, 1964, in Albertville, Alabama. She was a Valentine baby, and was exactly who you would expect someone born on a holiday focused on love to be: loving, selfless, kind, caring.

Kim was proud of many things in her life, but none more-so than her children Blake, Tyler, & Heather. She often told everyone of Blake’s kindness, Tyler’s talents, & Heather’s tenacity — all traits undoubtedly inherited from Kim herself.

Kim married her best friend Dan on July 7, 2012, in a beautiful ceremony in her other best friend Selina’s backyard. With that marriage she gained another daughter, Danielle.

Kim was passionate about God. She was the epitome of “walking the walk” instead of just talking the talk. She was not only open minded, but open hearted. Everyone she met, no matter what their history or background, was embraced with genuine compassion. She volunteered with the Maker’s Child program at her church anytime she could. After a lifetime of praying, she finally got to go on her dream adventure in June 2024: a mission trip to Uganda.

Kim loved Bob’s Burgers, watching cooking videos, family game nights, her dog Chewy, visiting Nashville, solid white tee shirts, the Not Alone program, and more than anything: her grandbabies.

Kim was cherished. She loved hard and in return her family loved her harder. She leaves behind her husband Dan Morgan; brothers Phillip Thurmond & Scotty Thurmond; sister Karon Hughes (Danny); sons Blake Minor & Tyler Minor; daughters Heather Williams (Tony) & Danielle Hollingsworth (Jacob); and her grand girls Ella, Luana, & Ruthie “Toots,” as well as many in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

Kim is preceded in death by her parents Doyle Edward Thurmond & Betty Joyce Thurmond, and her aunt Denise Dale Willett.

Just as Kim was celebrated in life, we want to continue to celebrate her. There will be a memorial service to honor her on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Albertville, 309 E. Main St., Albertville, AL 35950. Visiting with the family will be at 1:30 PM, followed by the service at 2:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Maker’s Child or Not Alone ministries through First Baptist Church of Albertville. Adams Brown Service Funeral Home is assisting the family during this difficult time.
