Teresa Ann Wade, age 74, passed away peacefully at her home on March 1, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on May 8, 1951, in Humboldt, Tennessee, Teresa was raised in the Gumwoods community, where she developed the strong faith, generous spirit, and deep love for family that would define her life. She carried those values with her in every season of life.
Teresa faithfully served as a deacon at First Presbyterian Church in Trenton, Tennessee. Her heart for service extended throughout the community. She volunteered at the Trenton Nite Lite Theatre and was an active officer of the Trenton Elks Lodge, where she dedicated time to the Christmas Angels Program.
For 25 years, Teresa worked as a legal secretary for Ann Oldfather in Louisville, Kentucky where she formed lasting friendships throughout her career.
Teresa found her greatest joy in time spent with friends and family. She loved hosting gatherings, cooking meals that brought everyone to the table, and making each person feel welcome and cared for. She enjoyed playing bridge, tending her garden, fishing for trout and redfish, and spending time on the golf course. A devoted University of Tennessee sports fan, she cheered faithfully for the Vols.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James “Sonny” and Margaret Ann Taylor.
Teresa is survived by her devoted husband, David Wade; her siblings, Hugh Taylor, Sherry Burkett (Dwayne), Terry Taylor, Jane Cooper, and Tony Taylor (Jeanna); and her children, Chuck Thompson (Sharyn) of Jackson, Tennessee; Kari Temple (Chris) of Trenton, Tennessee; and Maggie Armon (Cody) of Paducah, Kentucky.
She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Katie Burke (Jacob), Courtney Smith (Hunter), Shelby Woolfolk (JT), Evan Temple, Eli Temple, Luke Thompson, Sam Thompson, Charlie Thompson, Jentry Burke, Amelia Thompson, Sunni-Ann Allmon, Jack Armon, Massey Burke, Colt Armon, and Crew Smith.
