Lawrence O’Neal Akins, Jr., age 60 of Jasper, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 5, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel, burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Mark Lockhart will officiate.
Mr. Akins was preceded in death by his Parents-Neal Akins, Sr. and Lou Dawkins Akins; Grandparents-Bill and Dutch Akins; Grandparents-Shorty and Edith Dawkins; Chosen brother-Bobby Hill.
He is survived by his Daughter-Kristin Colburn of Jasper; Son-Lawrence O’Neal “Buddy” Akins, III (Tabatha) of Jasper; Sister-Cherrie Lockhart (Mark) of Jasper; Mother of his children-Tammy Akins Williams; Grandchildren-Hayden “Mater” Colburn, Brantley Akins, Bryant Akins and Annslee Colburn.
Pallbearers will be Booger Dawkins, Shannon Dawkins, Bo Gunter, Tim Breed, Michael Bridges, Ricky Dawkins, Bart Lockhart, Scott Whorton, Eddie Busby and Harold Sickles.
