Stan BlevinsStanley William Blevins, 72, of Fort Payne, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2026, at his home. Stan retired from the City of Fort Payne after 23 years as an Inspector and had driven a school bus in the past. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church where he played the bass guitar. Stan was an avid fisherman. He not only loved to fish himself, he enjoyed sharing his love of fishing. He was instrumental in starting the FPHS Fishing Club. and assisted his grandson Brantlee, who is on the Plainview Fishing Team. Stan was the Alabama Bass Federation Youth Director and Alabama Bass Association District 2 Director.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. David Durham and Rev. Ronnie Highfield officiating. Burial will follow in Union Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 p.m. until the 3 p.m. hour of service.

He is survived by his wife Cathy Blevins; mother Ruth Akins; daughters Misty Ramsey (David), Tiffani Lynskey; son Chris Blevins; step-son Don Sutherland and wife Sylvia; grandchildren and great-grandchildren (who knew him as PawPaw and Poppy) Tristan Everett (Justin), Shadda, Danielle, Alex, Devin, Declan, Brantlee, Hudsen, Brayson, Dawsyn, and Jemma; sister Kim Blevins; brother Jimmy Blevins; and several nieces and nephews.

Wilson Funeral Home and Crematory of Fort Payne is in charge of arrangements.
