Doris Critz WestDoris Critz West, age 92, peacefully left this world, February 21, 2026 leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and devotion to family. She was born February 17, 1934, beloved daughter of the late Russell Critz and Mabel Brond and was originally from New Virginia, Iowa.

In 1973, Mrs. Doris moved to Parsons alongside her late husband of more than forty years, Glen West. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and simple joys.

Mrs. Doris worked as a daycare worker at Day Care Centers, where she lovingly cared for countless children over the years. Affectionately known as “Nanny,” she had a special gift with children. While she adored her grandchildren beyond measure, her heart was big enough to love every child she encountered.

Doris was famously known as the “Yard Sale Queen.” She delighted in browsing yard sales and flea markets, always on the lookout for a new handbag or a stylish outfit. Her sense of adventure extended beyond shopping — she loved traveling, especially trips to Florida, where she cherished spending time stretched out on the warm sand, soaking in the sunshine.

Above all else, Doris loved her family, her two sons: Terry and Gary West and her three grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was a steady presence in their lives — always there with encouragement, wisdom, and unconditional love whenever she was needed. Preceding Mrs. Doris in death were her three brothers: Bernard, Don and Bud Critz and her sister, Beulah Adair. Her kindness, laughter, and unwavering support will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
