Donald Louis Lombardi Profile Photo  Donald Louis Lombardi, 78, of Elkmont, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his home on February 23, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Donald lived a life defined by devotion—devotion to his faith, his family, and the simple joys that made a house a home. A steady and guiding presence, he was a man whose quiet strength and generous heart left a lasting impression on all who knew him. His laughter, wisdom, and unwavering support were gifts he gave freely and often.

He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 57 years, Nancy Lombardi, whose partnership with him was a beautiful testament to enduring love. He also leaves behind his cherished daughter, Shelbi Thompson (Ben), and his beloved granddaughter, Avery Grace Thompson, who brought immense pride and joy to his life. Donald is further survived by his sisters, Louise Froehlich and Lorraine Cross, and his brother, Gary Lombardi, along with many extended family members and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Kevin Charles Lombardi; his parents; two sisters; and one brother. Though he carried the sorrow of those losses, he did so with grace and steadfast faith.

Donald’s life was measured not only in years but in the love he cultivated and the legacy he leaves behind—a legacy of kindness, loyalty, and unwavering dedication to family. His memory will live on in the stories shared around family tables, in the values he instilled, and in the hearts of those privileged to know him.

A life well lived. A love well shared. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
