Richard Leon Wilson born, June 6th 1948, left this earth for his heavenly home on February 19th 2026 after a brief battle with cancer. He was the son of the late Richard and Hazel Higgins Wilson. He had a heart for helping others. He was a faithful member of Toxish Baptist Church. He was a US Army veteran and fought for his country in Vietnam.

He is survived by his wife Geraldine Wilson, his sons Richie and Josh Wilson (Alison) Melissa Heard (Roger) and Anita Nunnelee (Ricky). 8 grandchildren. Alisa Wilson, James and Caleb Roberts. Eric Nunnelee (Tiffany) Tyler Nunnelee (Jolee) Jake Nunnelee  Carmen Heard and Miciah Heard (BreAnna) 3 great grandchildren, Caleb, Corbin, and Opal Nunnelee. He is survived by his sisters, Helen Horton (Jerry), Agnes Merritt, Elaine Fortune (Jerry), Betty Tutor (Phillip), and his brothers Lynn Wilson, Sam Wilson (Beth), Wiley Wilson, and Doug Wilson (Janet) and his special friends Austin and Anna Wells.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Amy Wilson Day.

Pallbearers are Jason Horton, Nicky Tutor, Dustin Tutor, Eric Nunnelee, Tyler Nunnelee, and Miciah Heard. Honorary Pallbearers are Jake Nunnelee, James and Caleb Roberts, his nephews, sunday school class, and the Pontotoc Beagle Club.

Visitation is on Monday February 23th at Toxish Baptist Church from 11-2 with the funeral to follow at Ware-Toxish Cemetery. The funeral will be officiated by Bro. Scotty Pannell, Bro. Rocky Watts, and Bro. Tyler Nunnelee.
