Head-On-Collision In Walker County Takes Two Lives And Sends Another Person To Hospital

WALKER COUNTY-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a tw-vehicle accident has taken the lives of two people and sent one to hospital in Birmingham with injuries:

“A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 6:29 p.m. Thursday, February 19, has claimed two lives.

Whittney M. Barrentine, 38, was fatally injured when the 2015 Chevrolet Traverse that she was driving collied head-on with the 2021 Toyota Tacoma driven by Christopher A. Brown, 50, of Oakman. Barrentine was not using a seat belt and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Brown was injured and air-lifted to University of Alabama of Birmingham Hospital (UAB) for treatment. A passenger of the Tacoma, Chester G. Brown, 77, of Oakman, was fatally injured and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on New Oakman Highway near Gray Farm Road, approximately two miles west of Parrish, in Walker County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
