PHIL CAMPBELL – Northwest Shoals Community College (NWSCC) will host the 2026 Miss Northwest Shoals Scholarship Competition, a preliminary event to Miss Alabama, on the Phil Campbell campus organized by NWSCC Student Life.
This prestigious pageant program will take place on the NWSCC Phil Campbell campus in the Lou B. Bevill Center on Saturday, February 21, 2026, starting at 5:00 pm.
NWSCC will welcome the first Miss Northwest Shoals 2024, Silvie Miller, of Russellville, as Mistress of Ceremonies for the evening. They will be joined by reigning 2025 Miss Northwest Shoals, Lara Gunderman. This year’s competition will again expand its reach by including qualifying high school seniors participating in the College’s Dual Enrollment program.

Gunderman, a current pre-nursing student at NWSCC, will conclude her reign as Miss Northwest Shoals on Saturday evening. According to Gunderman, it has been an honor to represent Northwest Shoals at many events over the past year.
“Being able to serve as Miss Northwest Shoals Community College 2025 has been one of the biggest blessings of my life,” said Gunderman. “I am incredibly thankful for this experience, and all the things it has taught me. Thank you to the Northwest Shoals Community College faculty and administration for trusting me with this opportunity. It has been an honor to represent a school and community so near and dear to my heart. I will always be thankful for the Miss Alabama Organization for the friendships and memories I have made throughout my reign. As I close this chapter, I feel so grateful to have had the chance to experience something as life changing as this!”
According to Savannah Liles, Miss Northwest Shoals Director, the Miss Northwest Shoals Scholarship Competition is a great opportunity for the College to empower and support our talented women as well as connect them with bigger opportunities to network within the Miss America System.
