Jo Ann HawkinsJo Ann Hawkins, age 67 of Boaz passed away Monday, February 16, 2026 at her home.
If you knew Joann Hawkins, you saw Christ’s love reflected through her life.

She was a true Christ-like role model in all of our lives. She lived her faith daily, not just in words, but in the way she treated people. She loved with patience, kindness, and grace, always putting the needs of others before her own. Caring for people came naturally to her. It was simply who she was.

Her family was her whole world. There was nothing that brought her more joy than being surrounded by the people she loved. Whether it was sitting together talking, laughing, or just spending quiet time in the same room, those moments meant everything to her. Being a mother, a Mawmaw, and a great-grandmother was her greatest pride.

She was the one everyone called when they needed comfort. If you needed advice, prayer, or just someone to listen, she was always there. She had a way of making people feel safe, loved, and understood.

She also held a special love for her work family at Shepherd’s Cove Hospice. Even though she worked as the cook, she went far beyond her role. She took time to know each person personally and loved them unconditionally, caring for them as if they were her own family.

Joann had a gentle spirit but left a powerful impact on everyone she met. She showed us what it meant to live with compassion, to serve others selflessly, and to love without limits.

She truly was an angel on this earth. While it is hard to imagine life without her here, we find comfort in knowing she is now resting peacefully in the arms of Jesus, watching over all of us until the day we meet again.

That is how she will always be remembered, through her faith, her love, and the legacy she leaves behind in all of us.

Her funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2026 at Albertville Memorial Chapel. She will be laid to rest at New Home Cemetery. Bro. Roger Igou will officiate her service. Pallbearers will be Andrew Brooks, Colin Mickelson, Brandon Hawkins, Tim Lacey, Josh Ledbetter and Ryan Smothers.
