With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well lived, we share that Kenneth Blanton Smith, born January 5, 1954, has gone to be with our Lord and Savior on February 13, 2026, in Huntsville, Alabama.

Kenneth was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose steady presence and generous spirit touched all who knew him. He proudly worked alongside his parents, Paul Blanton Smith and Carla Walker Smith, in the family business, Paul’s Auto Parts, where he built lasting relationships within the community through hard work and integrity.

A faithful member of Whitesburg Baptist Church, Kenneth served in the TV ministry, quietly ensuring services ran smoothly. His willingness to serve behind the scenes reflected his humble and giving nature.

Kenneth found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved cooking meals to share with family and friends, filling our home with warmth and laughter. He also enjoyed knitting, a hobby that showcased both his creativity and patience, qualities that defined him in many areas of life.

He is survived by his beloved wife, of 48 years, Melissa Wilson Smith; brother-in-law, Donald Lee Smith; his daughter, Dr. Kristina Smith Walker, and son-in-law, Dr. Eddie Gene Walker II; his son, Dr. Jonathan Kindred Smith, and daughter-in-law, Christine Collier Smith; and his grandsons, Benjamin Kindred Smith and Nicholas Kindred Smith.

Ken will be remembered for his kindness, his steady faith, his dedication to family, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life. His legacy of love and service will continue in the hearts of those who knew him.

Visitation will be held at Laughlin Service Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 18, from 10-12 am. A graveside service will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery on Wednesday, February 18, at 12:30 pm. The service will be conducted by cousins Dr. Richard Walker and Reverend Tim Smith.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Whitesburg Baptist Church’s Ignite Fund.
