Elena Cordova, 67, of Huntsville passed away February 11, 2026. She was born March 5, 1958 in Ft Benning, GA, one of five children, to Lucie and Alex Cordova. She moved to Huntsville with her family in 1965 and was a 1977 graduate of Butler High School.

Elena learned the art of baking and cake decorating at an early age, working in the family business, Alessandro’s Bakery. She had a long career at The Surgery Center and returned to baking a few years ago, this time at Publix.

Elena was one of the original members of the Sports Page Dart Club that led to the creation of the Rocket City Dart Association. She earned many awards at the local and regional level for dart throwing. She was an excellent cook, loved to read, watch tennis and be outside with her plants.

She was preceded in death by her father, Alex, and her brother, William. Elena is survived by her mother, Lucie Haisten; sisters, Kathleen Horton, Christine Cordova (Mike Boucher) and Laura Clifton (Tim), many nieces and nephews and her beloved cat, Mimi.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 19, 2026 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. A second visitation will be Friday, February 20, 2026 at 11:00 am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 625 Airport Road, followed by mass at noon.
