Joseph Daniel “J.D.” Baldwin, 93, passed away at his home in Algoma, MS, on Thursday, February 12. Born April 15, 1932, in Wynne, Arkansas, to Henry and Bertha Stowers Baldwin, he was happily married to Dean Watson Baldwin for 60 years. A man of faith and prayer, J.D. loved his family, his country, and sharing stories of God’s blessings in his life. He had a strong testimony, excelled in his work, and served as foreman for West Construction for many years.
He is survived by his children, Danny Baldwin (Teresa), Debbie Wright (Charles), Johnny Baldwin (Jan Bryan), Mark Baldwin (Marka), and Beverly Hill (Donny); 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and siblings Calvin Baldwin (Shirley), Betty Berry, Becky Jo Baldwin, Virginia Grisham (Clayton), Steve Baldwin (Imogene), Darlene Hickerson, Marie Brown, and Elaine Kahler (Gary).
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, daughter-in-law Rita Baldwin, and seven siblings: Junior Baldwin, Ben Baldwin, Philip Baldwin, David Baldwin, Doris Byrd, Nellie Wilson, and Sarah Camden.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc, with Bro. Charles Wright and Bro. Micah Carrier officiating. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. and continue until service time, followed by burial in Baldwin Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Baldwin, Jared Wright, Jason Wright, Derek Heatherly, Wesley Hutchinson, and Bill Lansdell.
