FLORENCE – CBC INGS AMERICA INC has chosen the Shoals Research Airpark in Muscle Shoals for the site of their first United States manufacturing facility. The Shoals Economic Development Authority (SEDA) unanimously accepted the offer made by the company today. Forest Wright, Executive director of SEDA, told Authority Members that once operational, the company could bring about more than 120 jobs to The Shoals area. Construction on Phase 1 of the project will begin this month, with the expected US dollar price of $24 million. Once the facility is completed the company will be ready to bring in employees.
The CBC INS America INC began in 1925 as a trading company which specialized in the Chemical and Pharmaceutical trade. They are now making the move into manufacturing automotive parts according to their media representative, Neil Oshizawa. Oshizawa said that the state of the art facility will be ideally located to serve the growing Southeast automotive market with its many machines including a robotic system designed to paint the parts to exact specifications.
The CBC INGS America INC, represents the latest in the growing number of foreign and domestic automotive related manufacturing facilities that have chosen the Shoals area of Northwest Alabama.
Muscle Shoals Mayor David Bradford, who could not be in attendance, said in the media release, “It has been a pleasure working with the CBC executives to bring this project to The Shoals. We are honored that a company of the caliber CBC characterizes selected Shoals Research Airpark as the Home for its first US Manufacturing facility.”
