Linda Sue Clemons, a resident of Vinemont, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 9th, 2026, at the age of 72. Born on January 28th, 1954, in Limestone County, she was the daughter of Carl Rich Carter and Laura Bell Tarpley Carter.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.
Linda leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor her memory. She is survived by her daughters, Teresa (Dale) Wise and Angie (Lloyd) Cox, and her grandchildren, Justin (Kim) Johnson, Jacob (Mary) Johnson, Cody (Katrina) Todd, and Matthew Todd, Angel Wise, Grayson Wise, and Christopher Smith. Several great-grandchildren will carry on her legacy of love. In addition to her immediate family, Linda is survived by her brother, James (Linda) Carter, and sister, Faye (Joe) Carlisle. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Laura Carter; her husband, William Clemons; her siblings, Junior Carter, Clyde Carter, Billy Carter, Gene Carter, Pat Ussery, Calvin Carter; and her grandson, Jastin Johnson.
Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of Linda’s life during the visitation on Saturday, February 14th, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:45 a.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m., officiated by Tammie Johnson. Linda will be laid to rest next to her husband at Copeland Cemetery, with Justin Johnson, Jacob Johnson, Christopher Smith, Cody Todd, Matthew Todd, and Peyton Todd having the honor of serving as pallbearers. Dale Wise will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
