Sheffield Mayor Bryan Van Devender Improving at Vanderbilt

NASHVILLE – Sheffield Mayor, Bryan W. Van Devender, is recovering at Vanderbilt University Hospital following his surgery to repair a brain-bleed from an aneurysm. Van Devender was airlifted to Nashville early Tuesday morning after examination at Helen Keller Memorial Hospital in Sheffield.

According to family, Van Devender underwent a successful surgical procedure Tuesday afternoon to repair the brain bleed. He is resting comfortably and doctors are encouraged that he will improve within a normal recovery time. There is no further information available on Van Devender’s condition.
