Funeral Services for Mr. Rodger O. Carr, age 73 of Ashland, will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 12:00 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland with Bro. Glen Stephens officiating. Burial will follow at Millerville Community Cemetery.
Mr. Rodger O. Carr passed away on February 2, 2026 at Brookwood Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham. Born in Sylacauga, Mr. Carr was a lifelong resident of Clay County and graduated from Bibb Graves High School. He worked for over 55 years in the Logging Industry as a truck driver, hauling timber over several states and even assisted with hurricane cleanup when duty called. He was a hard-working man, who could fix anything that was broken, and would give you the shirt off of his back. He had an eccentric taste of collecting cars and antiques, and enjoyed participating in drag racing in his off time. Mr. Carr never met a stranger, always spoke what was on his mind, and was completely selfless. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother.
Mr. Carr is survived by 2 sons: Rodney O. Carr (Jennifer Dawn) of Ashland and Rodger L. Carr (Connie Michele) of Opelika; 6 grandchildren: Garrett Carr (Nichole), Jerrod Carr (Meghan), Spencer Carr (Sierra), Kaylee Carr (fiancé Luke Haynes), Conner Carr, and Milye Carr; 6 great- grandchildren: Meleah, Jayda, Zayne, L. J., Weaver-Lynn, and Madalyn; 2 brothers: Oscar Otto Carr, Jr. of Bluff Springs and Rickey Carr of Talladega; close friend, Kelly Gray of Ashland and right hand man, Martin Coit of Millerville; and his ex-wife, Donna Wilkerson Horn (Mike) of Millerville.
Mr. Carr is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Otto Carr, Sr. and Ruby Lee Monroe Carr, and one brother, Billy L. Carr.
Pallbearers for Mr. Carr will be Garrett Carr, Jerrod Carr, Spencer Carr, Luke Haynes, Conner Carr and Jansen McCain. Honorary Pallbearer will be Zayne Logan.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland from 5:00 -8:00 P.M.
