George Randal Meadows, 71, of Ripley passed away Friday, January 30, 2026 at Lauderdale Community Hospital. Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 PM Sunday at Garner Funeral Home in Ripley. Funeral services will be 2 PM Monday at Garner Funeral Home with interment to follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Mr. Meadows was a fifth-generation farmer with a family operation dating back to the 1840’s. He was active in 4-H and FFA before graduating from Ripley High School in 1972. He served on the Lauderdale County Farm Bureau for more than 30 years and was elected president in 2010. George also served on the Lauderdale County Soil Conservation Board. He was a devout Christian and a member of Mt. Pleasant Church in Arp, TN which he attended from birth. He served as a Sunday school teacher and several other capacities. Mr. Meadows was a devoted husband, father, brother, and grandfather who dearly loved God and his family.
The husband of Patsy Meadows, his wife of 52 years, he is survived by a daughter Kamala Armour (Matt) of Ripley; two sons Les Meadows (Stephanie) and Larry Meadows (Anna) both of Ripley; a sister Jean Smith of Ripley; four grandchildren Trent Kissell (Mallory), Garrett Kissell (Taylor), Kyler Meadows and Austin Meadows and one great-grandchild BentleyAnn Kissell. He was preceded in death by his parents Billy and Sarah Meadows, a sister Jane Meadows Burnett, and a brother Rev. Walter Meadows.
