Patricia (Pati) Jean Grimes Dodson was born on November 6, 1952 in Fort Ord in Monterey County, California, the daughter of the late Walter (Bud) and Barbara Jean Woldhagen Grimes. Ms. Dodson departed this life at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, TN on Monday, January 26, 2026 at the age of 73 years, 2 months, and 20 days.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Dodson was preceded in death by her brother Richard Grimes, sister-in-law Nancy Grimes, and nephew Ashtin Grimes.
Ms. Dodson dedicated 32 years to Buffalo River Services until her retirement in June 2022.
She is survived by two daughters, Kambria Butler of Waynesboro, TN and Shawnee Gray (Michael) of Adamsville, TN; six grandchildren, Shayla Fisher, Kelsey Dill (Taylor), Shawon Fisher, Matt Lineberry, Coby Butler, and Hayley Staggs; and four great-grandchildren, Kamdyn Dill, Arianna Pevahouse, Kollyns Dill, and Banks Dill; brothers, Stanley Grimes (Janice) of Santee, CA and David Grimes of Waynesboro, TN and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a graveside service for family and friends at Memorial Gardens in Waynesboro, TN on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at 2:00 PM with long-time friends and coworkers, Matthew Lineberry and Phil Garner officiating. Pallbearers include her grandsons, Shawon Fisher, Matt Lineberry, and Coby Butler; great-grandson, Kamdyn Dill; nephews, Michael Grimes and Wayne Grimes; and honorary pallbearer, her brother, David Grimes.
