Edwin Neal Tedford, 71, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at NMMC in Tupelo, MS. Born March 1, 1954, in Pontotoc, MS, to Barry Jackson and Thelma Jo Prater Tedford, Neal worked operating heavy machinery like bulldozers and backhoes. He enjoyed riding horses, taking his horse-drawn wagon out, tending his large garden each year, running his dogs, hunting deer, and, above all, spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his son, Tommy Lee Harmon; granddaughter, Cheyenne Tedford; grandson, Noah Tedford; great-grandchildren, Haygen and Hayzlei Tedford; sisters, Krystal Tedford Evans and Pauline Leyland; brother, Mark Tedford; daughter, Amanda Reynolds; and son, Eddie Ledbetter.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jamie Neal Tedford; his sisters, Mary Tedford, Sherry Collins, and Holly Dowdy; his brothers, Jack and Lee Tedford; his wife, Paulette Tedford; and his parents.
Funeral services are set for 1 PM on Monday, February 2, 2026, at Baldwin Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc, with visitation starting at 11 AM. After the service, a procession will head to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, where Mr. Tedford’s casket will be placed in a horse-drawn wagon and taken to Pleasant Grove Cemetery for burial.
Serving as pallbearers will be Rick Linley, Tommy Harmon, Noah Tedford, Brandon Davis, Robert Copeland, and Jesse Rakestraw, with Haygen Tedford and Jaxon Harmon as honorary pallbearers.
