Patricia Martin 81yrs. Old of Decatur, Alabama passed away January 7th,2026 at Decatur Morgan hospital at 3:26a.m. She was born in August 13,1944 in Columbus, Georgia to Martha Catherine Staggs and James C. Martin of hueytown, Alabama. She grew up in many different states till settling in Dallas, Texas where she married twice and had her 4 children. She moved to New Orleans, Louisiana to be with her father and met her partner of 55yrs. She was a business owner for many years of Old King Cole ice cream company and The Greek Club. But she wanted more out of life, so she went back to college and got her Bachelor’s in science and RN degree from L.S.U. and William Carey college. I believe as her daughter this is where she did her best work in life. She loved being a nurse and she was a wonderful nurse who was smart, loving, and extremely caring to so many patients and there families. It was the love that made her so great. She is survived by her long time partner Eleftherious Zazopoulos of 55yrs. And 3 children Mitchell Sheffield (Beth Ablon), Michael Sheffield(Joyce Burns) and Patricia Harris Campbell. She has 10 grandkids Brandy Cain, Garrett Sheffield(Kim), Jordan Heckel, Morgan Linton(James), Stevie Ray McDaniels, Sabrina Lilly(Jason),Laura Feagan,Robert Feagan(Katerine),Juan Pablo Aguirre and Vanesia Catherine Burgos. She has 15 great grandkids Alexis Lilly, Addilee Lilly, Mia Feagan,Lucas Feagan, Oliver Feagan, Savanna Feagan, Nathan Sheffield, Penelope Sheffield, J.J. Linton,Jonah Linton, Joy Linton, Caleb Nesbitt,Corey Cain, Savanna Youngand Elijah Phillips. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elaine and Jessie Slayton and her daughter Vanesia Ruth Mc Daniel’s.
