Ralph Edward Hatcher, age 80, of New Hope, passed away Sunday.
Ralph was preceded in death by his mother, Lila Paseur Hatcher and father, Eugene Hatcher.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Hatcher; brother, Eugene Hatcher, Jr (Glenda Hatcher); sister, Nancy Butler (Tom Ed Butler), son, Ralph Hatcher Jr. (Jennifer Hatcher); daughters, Lynne Smith, and Brandy Craig (Joey Craig); grandchildren, Alexandria Smith, Christopher Smith, Cheyenne Hatcher, Heather Thompson (Matt Thompson), Jackson Craig and Alivia Craig; great grandchildren, Opal Smith and Madison Thompson and several nieces & nephews.
Ralph’s life was defined by a deep sense of duty. He proudly served in the Army National Guard, embodying the values of discipline and patriotism. Following his military service, Ralph transitioned into a career in law enforcement, where he served his community with integrity for many years.
Even after retiring as a police officer, Ralph’s commitment to safety and justice didn’t waver. He founded and operated a successful traffic accident investigation business. For the last ten years, Ralph fully embraced the “retired life.” He traded the sirens and spreadsheets for the open road and the warmth of home. He enjoyed staying busy and maintaining his home.
Visitation will be Thursday 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, Friday at 1:00 PM with Rev. Tom Johnson officiating.
Interment will be in Kennamer Cemetery.
