Mattie Faye Blankenship Carey, age 84, Haleyville, AL. passed away Sunday January 25, 2025. She was a retired Rural Carrier with USPS and a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Thursday January 29,, 2026 from 4:00PM – 6:00PM at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville, AL. Funeral service to follow at 6:00PM in the chapel, with Bro. Rayburn Whitman officiating.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Raymond Carey; daughter, Melanie Huffman, (husband Jimmy Huffman), Susan Riggs, (husband Ricky Riggs), Crystal Holder (husband Kevin Holder) and Amber Carey (husband Scott Jernigan); brother, Dan Blankenship; grandchildren, Nikki Riggs, Jarrett Huffman, Sara Rowe, Aric Riggs, Katy Hunt, Morgan Russell, Carter Huffman, Russ Fuller, Ryder Fuller, Sydney Jernigan and Sawyer Jernigan; great grandchildren, Natalyn Baker, Anna Rowe, Emily Rowe, Harper Huffman, Kade Huffman, Declan Russell and Beckett Russell; a host of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ausie and Susie Blankenship; siblings, Lorene Colburn, Leon Blankenship, Bea Potter, Williard Blankenship, Hilliard Blankenship and Jean Potter.
