David Brenton Berry, 60, passed away Friday, January 23, 2026 at North MS Medical Center, Tupelo, MS.  He was born in Florence, AL to Jimmy and Ella Strickland Berry.  He was self-employed as a landscaper and plant broker.  He loved riding horses and was a modern-day cowboy at heart.  He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Red Bay, AL.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 29, 11 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Bill Harper officiating.  Visitation will be Wednesday, January 28, 5-8 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay.  Burial will be in Red Bay City Cemetery.  Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by two sons, Ryan Berry (Melinda) and Tyler Berry (Ginger); one grandson, Brenton Berry; step-grandchildren, Logan Ford and Kaitlyn Kennedy; his parents, Jim and Ella Berry; sister, Sonya Jackson (Russ); two brothers, Mark Berry (Tina) and Chris Berry (Bridget); nieces and nephews, Greta Huffman (Chris), Alexa White (Kendric), Laken Berry, Ally Berry, Olivia Carter (Reed), Carlee Robbins (Kyle) and Mattee Berry; great-nieces, Darby Huffman and Blair White; great-nephew, Fletcher Robbins and special friend, Jami Williams.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harvey and Ruby Strickland and Gene and Murl Berry; aunts, Deborah Smith and Doris Lindsey and uncle, Jerry Strickland.

Pallbearers will be Russ Jackson, Chris Huffman, Kendric White, Kyle Robbins, Devan Hurst and Dean Hubbard.
