Mr. Elbert Loid Parsons, Sr., a respected member of the Pine Ridge Community in Morgan County, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Huntsville Hospital. Born on May 30, 1941, in Capshaw, Alabama, Elbert was a beloved son of Wildred (Bill) Kemuel Parsons and Dovie Mae Lewter Parsons. Throughout his life, Elbert worked diligently in the construction industry, serving as a superintendent, and also served as a lay minister with the Church of God.
Elbert was a man of many talents and a devoted family man, remembered as a wonderful father and great-grandfather. He studied and taught the Bible with dedication and was known for ministering to others through acts of kindness and help. Elbert found joy in the outdoors, particularly in deer and coon hunting, fishing, and observing wildlife in state parks.
Family members Elbert leaves behind to cherish their memories include his sons, Alton (Kenny) Kemuel Parsons (Dianna), Darrell L. Parsons, and Patrick “Andy” Parsons (Carrie); eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Franklin Parsons (Nancy); and sisters, Helen Reeves and Hazel Wilbanks (John).
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Ella Louise Parsons; parents, Wildred “Bill” and Dovie Mae Parsons, and his son, Elbert Loid Parsons, Jr.
A Memorial Service for Mr. Parsons will be held at Brindlee Mountain Chapel in Morgan City on Saturday, February 28, 2026. The service will begin at 2:00 PM, with a short visitation an hour prior at 1:00 PM. The family is deeply grateful for all the prayers and condolences received and kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, friends honor Elbert’s memory by helping someone in need and paying it forward.
