Anthony “Tony” Ceci of Huntsville, Alabama passed away on Thursday January 15th after a brief illness. Tony was born in Dover, New Jersey to Margaret Jean Ceci and Angelo Henry Ceci on January 14th, 1971. He graduated from Huntsville High School in 1989 and earned certifications in Emergency Medicine and as a Paramedic, CPR Instructor and ACLS Instructor from Calhoun Community College and the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Tony worked for Huntsville Emergency Medical Services (HEMSI) for over 35 years, spending the last eighteen years supporting the Marshall Space Flight Center where he served as both a Paramedic and the manager of the center’s automated external defibrillator program. He was recognized for his contributions in that role with the prestigious NASA Silver Snoopy Award in 2019.
Known for his barbecue skills, Tony was also the owner and operator of JC’s BBQ, a longtime local food truck that served at local school and PTA events and had many devoted customers.
Tony is survived by son, James Ceci; mother, Margaret Ceci; sisters, Elvira Ceci and Katherine Ceci; brother, Joseph Ceci; and nephews, Jonathan Ceci, Nicholas Ceci and Daniel Ceci. He is preceded in death by his father, Angelo Ceci.
Funeral services will be held at Laughlin Service Funeral Home on Wednesday January 28, 2026. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 followed by a remembrance at 6:00.
Memorial donations may be made to the Huntsville Madison County Rescue Squad, where Tony began his career as a volunteer EMT.
