Mr. Michael "Mike" Ray Carpenter Michael “Mike” Ray Carpenter, age 75, passed away peacefully on Dec. 26,2025 at his home in Guntersville, Ala.
Mike was born Nov. 24, 1950, to George Earl and Hildred (Stewart) Carpenter. Mike was a 1968 graduate of Henry County High School then started his career with Tru-Green/Chem-Lawn where he retired after 35 years of service.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Linda Carpenter of Guntersville, Ala.; children, Ronald (Gina) Lovell of Lebanon Junction, Toni (Lance, predeceased) Hall of Pleasureville, Brandon (Leigh-Ann) Lovell of Albertville, Ala. and Micah (Jerry) Horn of Pendleton; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his sister, Patricia (Hank) Watson of Mt. Washington.
Mike loved his family and friends. His passion for fishing and the outdoors led him to eventually settle in the Lake Guntersville area, which was a dream he was able to see come to fruition. He spent much of his time fishing, boating and camping. When not enjoying the lake, Mike and Linda were avid travelers – taking trips all across the country in their RV. Mike was always willing to help fellow campers and never met a stranger. Mike and Linda made many life-long friendships along their journeys.
In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his brother George (Rhonda) Carpenter.
Mike will be greatly missed and forever remembered for his neighborly personality and infectious smile and laughter.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026, at Sligo Baptist Church from 1- 4 p.m. This will be a time for family and friends to gather and share favorite stories and happy memories.
