Mr. Timothy “Tim” Mennes 66 , passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at his residence in Eva surrounded by his family. Affectionately known as “Tim”, he was born in Michigan to Albert William and Mary Catherine Culver Mennes on November 29, 1959. Tim lived a simple life as an over the road truck driver until he went to work with his brother in law Tony and remained local. He lived on a family compound with his kids, grand kids and siblings. He was known as “Grumpy Santa”. Tim grew up in Hillsboro, AL. He had a gruff exterior and a soft a teddy bear interior. Tim and his siblings were very, very close. They took annual sibling trips, and many sibling functions together, they were known as the “Fab 5” and he will be greatly missed.
Tim is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his two daughters, Stacey Mennes, Danielle Hicks; his siblings, Teresa Harris, Tammy Aldridge (Adam), Tracy Montgomery Gettys (Tony) and Thomas “Tom” Mennes; grand kids, Malaki Brackens, Honor, Kymber and Caleb Johnson, Raegan Lindsay, Brylee Kirkland and Hollis Hicks.
Tim was truly loved and will missed by all who knew him.
