Johnny Thigpen, 83, of Lexington, passed away Monday, January 19, 2026. He was born to Clarence and Lilly Mae Thigpen on September 22, 1942. He was a member of Mt Pleasant Baptist Church.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 31st at Mt Pleasant Baptist Church in Lexington, Alabama from 11-12 with a memorial service following. His brothers-in-law, Gary and Gerald Liverett, will be officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later time.
Johnny is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Lilly Mae Thigpen; brothers, A.W. Thigpen, Roy Thigpen, James Thigpen; sisters, Elizabeth Smith, Milldred Coffman; sister-in-law, Dorthy Jean Thigpen; brothers-in-law, Ronnie Smith and Brad Coffman. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sandra Thigpen; daughter, Tammy Thigpen; grandsons, Zach Thigpen, Hunter Patton; granddaughter, Hannah Patton; 7 great-grandchildren and another coming in March; sisters-in-law, Brenda Thigpen, Carnell Thigpen, Jennifer (Eddie) Rudloph; brothers-in-law, Gary (Phyllis) Liverett, Gerald (Shelia) Liverett; and numerous nieces and nephews.
