Sylvia Hood Pevahouse, 70, of Decatur, AL passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born in Dekalb County, AL, on June 9, 1955 to John Wiley and Edward Dean Hood.
Sylvia worked for General Motors as a factory equipment worker prior to her retirement. She liked sewing and making her own clothing and really enjoyed writing poetry. She loved her family and her cat-Thomas.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include:
Son- Wesley Pevahouse (Kira)
Sister- Sandra Reece Tatum
Two grandsons- Ryder and Daxten Pevahouse
Nieces- Tara Stewart, Alicia Blankenship and Darby Tyndall
