Mattie Mutell (Olive) Moore Obituary Mrs.Mattie Mutell Olive Moore , was born in Wayne County on December 08, 1939 to her parents the late Mr. William Clifford Olive and Mrs. Lelia Bell Lard Olive. She would spend her childhood in the Lutts area, attending school and especially developing her love for the outdoors, a passion that would last throughout her life. In her adult years, she would build her family and set deep roots in the Lutts area, working in several different positions for different companies such as garment factories and cabinet shops but her duties as a mother and care giver for her family was always at the forefront of her heart and mind.  She was a spiritually minded woman as she was a member of the Christian Faith Church in Cloverdale, AL. In her leisure time she enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, hunting ginseng, planting vegetable gardens and flower gardens. Still, she held no other moments in her heart closest to the moments she spent with her children, grandchildren, family and friends. Mrs. Mattie Mutell Olive Moore passed from this life on December 16, 2026 in Hardin County making her stay on this earth some 86 years, 1 month and 8 days.

 

Those left to honor her memory include her children Sanda Jean Burns husband Travis of Castle Rock KY, Judy Mae Bogus of Lutts, TN Wanda Louise Wilson husband Robert of Cypress Inn, TN Debra Kaye Balentine of Lutts, TN David Lewis Moore wife Kimberly of  Muscle Shoals, AL and Vickey Heupel husband Michael of Iron City, TN; grandchildren include Kevin Burns, Jason Burns, Jessica Alexander, Makayla Vandyke, Tina Gray, Kassie McCrary, Colton Griggs, Michelle Freeman, Nathan White, Morgan Moore, Riley Moore, Chelsie Bobo, Hunter Bobo and Barry Balentine; 15 great-grandchildren; siblings include Betty Jean Langford of Savannah, TN, Frances Mae Liles of Cypress Inn, TN, Doyle Jackson McWilliams of Cypress Inn, TN and Lori Bell Harris of Lawrenceburg, TN as well as several nieces and nephews, many other family members and friends.

 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings William “Dub” Olive, Omielene Olive, James “Jig” Olive, George Olive, Mildred Lavere and Fanny Cheeks.

 

Funeral Services will be held Monday January 19, 2026, at Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation, LLC in Waynesboro, TN beginning at 11:00 am with Dennis Hanvey officiating. Burial will follow at the Dodd family cemetery.

 

Visitation with the family will begin Sunday January 18, 2026, beginning at 12:00 pm till 9:00 pm and again on Monday January 19, 2026, 9:00 am till 11:00 am service time all at the Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation, LLC in Waynesboro, TN.
