Notice for Avis Ann Ramey

Avis Ann Fredrick Ramey, 93, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at the North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice Unit. She was born April 22, 1932, in Smithville, to Elmer and Willie Kennedy Frederick. She was a graduate of Smithville High School where she was a stand-out basketball player. She married Pete Ramey on June 17, 1956, and spent her life as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker, and caregiver. She was a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church.  Avis enjoyed sewing and being around her family, especially her grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, January 19, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Mark Robbins and Sidney Davis officiating. Burial will be in Itawamba Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include her daughter, Christie Brock, and her son, Stanley Ramey (Trish), both of Fulton; her grandchildren, Corey Brown (Courtney Lynn) of Tremont, Anna Marie Hodge (Felipe) of Dublin, GA, Jordan Brock of Starkville, and Meagan Taylor (Michael), Marcie Parker (Cole), and Chad Ramey (Kelly), all of Fulton; her great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Willow, and Eliza Brown, Eliott Hodge, Briggs and Rhodes Parker, Nolan Ramey, and an expected great-grand daughter to be named after her, Eden Ann Hodge; one brother, Jerry Frederick (Patsy) of Smithville; a sister, Faye Stevens of Amory; and a host of extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Ramey; her grandson, Wesley Ramey; a brother, Thelbert Frederick; three sisters, Irene Hadaway, Mavis Nail, and Mary Lou Davis Carothers; and her parents.

Pallbearers will be Corey Brown, Felipe Hodge, Cole Parker, Michael Taylor, and Chad Ramey.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.
