Jerry Lee Austin, 78, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026, in Pontotoc, MS. Born on July 27, 1947, in Pontotoc County to Loss and Kathleen Herring Austin, Jerry was a devoted husband of 50 years, a caring father, and a proud gramps. A faithful member of Victory Baptist Church, he loved spending time with his family, watching hummingbirds, admiring vintage cars, and enjoying all things related to Tennessee walking horses.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Bramlett Austin; his daughter, Michelle McCord (John); his grandchildren, Tanner and Kaitlyn McCord; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Rita Austin Beasley.
Funeral services will take place on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at 2 PM at Baldwin Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc, with visitation starting at 1 PM. Bro. Phillip Jackson will officiate, and burial will follow at Oak Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers include John Russell, Curtis Gregory, Merle Ferguson, and Gary Bishop.
