Evelyn Sue Siniard Evelyn Sue Siniard, 88, of Athens passed away at Decatur Morgan Hospital on January 12th at 6:55pm surrounded by her family. Evelyn was born to Floyd Long and Daisy Marie (Kelly) Long on May 16th, 1937.

Evelyn was most lovingly referred to as “Granny”. She was an exceptional mother and grandmother as well as a wonderful cook. She spent most of her life raising babies and providing a home cooked meal and a place to stay to anyone who came through her doors. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She was proceeded in death by her parents; her husband Harvie Siniard; 7 brothers, and 1 sister.

She is survived by her only daughter, Cynthia Siniard Hoskins (Tony) of Huntsville; Granddaughters Renee Powers (Jason) of Ardmore, and Brenna Morris (Michael) of Athens; Great Grandchildren Jada Powers, Easton Osborne, Chesley Morris, Chase Osborne, and her namesake Evelyn “Evie” Morris; Brothers M.F Long (Kathy) and Charles Long (Paula); Sisters Nella Faye Harrison and Connie Ball along with countless nieces and nephews.

At this time no funeral services will be held. The family will have a private celebration of life at a later date.
