Glenda "Ann" Thornbury Glenda “Ann” Thornbury, age 83, of Albertville, Alabama, passed away on January 6, 2026. She was born on April 26, 1942, to the late Horace and Lillie Stephens.

Ann was known for her caring heart and her love for helping others. She volunteered at the Downtown Rescue Mission Thrift Store, where she enjoyed serving her community. She was a devoted caregiver to her mother for many years, a role she fulfilled with deep love and dedication. Above all, Ann was a wonderful mother who loved her children dearly, carting them to all their sports events and supporting them in everything they did. She was also a loving grandmother who cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. Ann loved flowers, gardening and enjoyed spending time outdoors.

She is survived by her sons, Dee (Patti) Thornbury and Thad Thornbury; and her grandchildren, Katie (Brandon) Terrell, Stephen Thornbury, and Abigail Thornbury. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Delaine Thornbury, Sr.; and her siblings, Fred Stephens, Evelyn Norrell, Jack Stephens, Wayne Stephens, and Oran Stephens.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2026, in the Chapel of Adams Brown Service Funeral Home, with Bro. Mark Adams officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service, beginning at 12:00 p.m. A private burial will take place at Marshall Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Second Chance Shelter or Albertville First Methodist Church. Adams Brown Service Funeral Home directing.
