Clarence "Buddy" Burton Parsley  Mr. Clarence “Buddy” Burton Parsley, Jr., age 63, a member of the Union Hill community in Somerville, AL, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday afternoon, January 5, 2026. Born on May 25, 1962, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Buddy was the son of Clarence Burton Parsley, Sr. and Helen McQuillian Parsley. He earned his bachelor’s degree and built a respected career as a skilled carpenter in the construction industry. Buddy was of the Baptist faith and attended Stay Free Ministries in Arab, AL.

Beyond his craftsmanship, Buddy found joy in riding motorcycles, fishing, boating, and playing billiards, passions he pursued with enthusiasm and skill.

Buddy’s legacy lives on through his loving family: his wife, Jody Parsley; sons, Jonathan Parsley (Farrah), “Buddy” Clarence Burton Parsley III, and Daniel Lee Gothard; daughters, Lisa Sutton, Rita Peoples (Keith), Gillian Parsley, and Heather Lynn Vinci. He was a proud grandfather to eighteen grandchildren and leaves behind numerous great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Deanna McQuillian, and a host of extended family and friends who will miss him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Helen Parsley and three brothers.

Services for Buddy will be Friday, January 9, 2026 at Brindlee Mountain Chapel in Morgan City, AL. Family members will greet friends and guests for visitation from 1:00 pm until the funeral service begins at 2:00pm. Brother Bill McDonald will officiate. Interment will be in Lincoln Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis, Indiana on Monday, January 12, 2025 at 12:00 noon. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
