Dewitt Peek, 79 of Arab passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born September 6, 1946, in Arab the son of Ormond Dewitt Peek and Mary McGill Peek. He was a graduate of Banks High School and received an associate’s degree from Jefferson State Community College. He worked as a buyer for various plumbing supply companies and attended Mt. Oak Community Church.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years: Jean Peek; children: Chris Peek and Melissa Vaughn (Jason); grandson: Joseph Vaughn; sisters: Mary Catherine Cummings and Nellie Walters (Larry); sisters-in-law: Peggy Whitaker (Martin), Linda Cotton (Mike) and Josie McClain; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Gober Funeral Chapel with Reverend Dani Peele, officiating. The burial will be in Mt. Oak/Ruth Cemetery, Gober Funeral Chapel directing.
Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Gober Funeral Chapel.
Pallbearers: Martin Whitaker, Ormond Cummings, Steve Jung, Mike Cotton, Jed Martin and Josh Martin.
