Catherine Smith Woods, age 78, of Sulligent, AL, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at 2:00pm from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with graveside services and burial to follow in the Gilmer Addition of Sulligent City Cemetery. Bro. Willie Joe Hollis to officiate. Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the funeral service from 1:00pm until 2:00pm.

Catherine was born on May 30, 1947 in Vernon, AL to the late Cola Smith and the late Rosie Lee Owens Smith. She was a graduate of Todd High School. Catherine previously worked at McCoy Manufacturing, Reltoc, and was a School Bus Driver for Head Start. She was a proud member of Eastern Star and faithfully devoted to her church, Rising Star Missionary Baptist, having served as a Sunday School teacher. She thoroughly enjoyed all the love, laughter and fellowship of family and friends and cherished the time they spent together. Her beautiful spirit and kind heart will always be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
