FLORENCE-On December 25, 2025, officers with the Florence Police Department responded to a two-vehicle crash with injuries and reported entrapment at the intersection of Florence Boulevard and Broadway Street.
Upon arrival, officers located a female driver and a juvenile female who were trapped inside one of the vehicles. Both were

extricated from the vehicle. One of the occupants sustained serious physical injuries as a result of the crash.
Officers also located the second vehicle involved and its driver. During the investigation, officers observed indicators of impairment and conducted a Driving Under the Influence (DUI) investigation. Following further investigation, the driver was arrested.
The driver was identified as Martin Jimenez Miranda, 36, of Guatemala. Miranda has been charged with Assault in the First Degree, Assault in the Third Degree, and Driving Under the Influence (DUI).
Miranda was transported to the Lauderdale County Detention Center, where he was booked. His bond has been set at $8,000; however, he is currently being held due to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) hold.
